Student Data & the Diagnostics
A note for teachers, school leaders, and data-protection officers · August 2026
This note is written for schools evaluating a FundaFirst HS classroom diagnostic pilot. It sets out exactly what student data a diagnostic collects and what happens to it, in a form a teacher can forward to a head of department or data-protection officer as-is. Our full privacy policy covers website and teacher data as well; nothing here differs from it.
What students provide
Students answer multiple-choice diagnostic questions through a shared Google Forms link. There are no student accounts, no logins, and no software to install. Students may optionally enter a first name or student ID so their teacher can read the class report — this is at the school's discretion, is not required, and schools may use anonymised IDs instead. We do not collect student email addresses, login credentials, or any other personal information from students.
How responses are used
Responses are scored and analysed at class level to produce the teacher's misconception heatmap, cohort summary, and remediation materials, delivered to the requesting teacher within 48 hours of completion. We do not build individual student profiles, and responses are not used for any purpose beyond producing the school's own report.
What we never do
We do not sell, share, or rent student data to any third party. We do not use diagnostic responses to train AI models. We do not serve advertising. We do not create student accounts.
Where responses are stored
Responses are collected via Google Forms and stored on Google's servers under Google's privacy terms. Scoring and analysis happen in Google Sheets, with access restricted to FundaFirst HS. Our website host (Netlify) does not process or store diagnostic responses.
Retention and deletion
Diagnostic response data is retained only as long as needed to generate and deliver the school's reports. Any teacher or school can request access to, correction of, or deletion of their students' diagnostic responses at any time: email admin@fundafirsths.com and we will respond within 5 business days.
Working within your school's policies
Pilots are formative diagnostics run within your school's normal assessment and data policies — we never ask teachers to bypass them. If your DPO or leadership team has a question this note doesn't answer, email admin@fundafirsths.com and we will answer it directly.
